THE EMERGING ROLE OF ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSES (APNS) IN MODERN HEALTHCARE

Abstract

Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) play a crucial role in addressing the growing demands of modern healthcare through advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and evidence-based practice. As healthcare systems face challenges such as chronic diseases, aging populations, and workforce shortages, APNs have expanded their roles in primary, acute, and community care by providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health promotion, and care coordination. Their contributions have been linked with improved patient outcomes, increased access to quality healthcare, enhanced patient satisfaction, and cost-effective service delivery.
